AI Co-Thinking: A Framework for Working with AI

AI won't replace your thinking. It will amplify it. The question is: what is it amplifying?

Most professionals sense they're only scratching the surface of what AI can do. They experiment with queries and tasks, and get results that are sometimes impressive and often frustrating. They can't quite make it reliable, and they're not sure why.
The problem is almost never the AI model. It's the thinking that precedes it.

AI Co-Thinking is a book for people who like to figure things out. Most books about AI either forecast a revolution or instruct you to write better prompts. This one does neither. It argues that the value of any AI interaction is determined by the quality of structured human thinking you bring to it. Moving from AI dabbler to AI Co-Thinker requires a philosophy and a framework, not just better prompts.

Drawing on real engagements across strategic decision-making, investing, organizational design, personal coaching, and executive education , Bob Greene and Nathan Mauck demonstrate what Co-Thinking looks like in effective practice.

Inside :

Why prompt engineering is the wrong place to start The difference between using AI and thinking with AI A nine-component Human Intelligence framework spanning problem definition, solution design, and adoption Real-world detailed vignettes showing Co-Thinking applied to professional problems How to make AI a partner that amplifies your critical and creative thinking This is not a technology book. It won't explain how AI works or predict where it's going. It will change how you work with it.
Readable in a sitting or two, AI Co-Thinking is written in a conversational tone that is pragmatic without being prescriptive, and substantive without being academic.

It is written for leaders who want to grow beyond AI dabbling toward Co-Thinking that is intentional, productive, and lasting, for themselves and their organizations .

Robert Greene , founder of OIC Innovation, has devoted 30 years to figuring out strategic challenges at complex organizations, as entrepreneur, corporate executive, and management consultant. Bob specializes in designing the What-Why-How of growth opportunities, including collaborative innovation via external partnerships. His recent focus is integrating his methods into Co-Thinking with AI, to make the value of outside perspective more accessible to diverse enterprises of all sizes. Bob earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and B.S. from Yale University.

Nathan Mauck is Professor of Finance at the Henry W. Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri–Kansas City, where he has earned multiple teaching awards and works with undergraduate, graduate, and executive students. He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles, with research featured in The Wall Street Journal. Beyond academia, he co-founded Valu-U, advises on capital strategy at Critical Materials Crossroads, and is an AI power user who emphasizes thoughtful problem-solving over technical expertise.
