Meet Amina Sinclair. Born and raised in Miami, Florida. Amina was raised in a successful household, with an accomplished attorney for a mother and an architectural designer for a father. Her childhood was filled with love, stability, and great opportunity. For a while, life for Amina almost seemed too good to be true. Everything changed after the tragic loss of her father. Miami no longer felt the same for Amina’s mother, so when Amina was only thirteen years old, she and her mother relocated to London, with plans to rebuild their lives there. Over the years, London became home for Amina. She attended one of the best universities in London, followed in the same career path as her father, and eventually, she found a man that she thought she would spend forever with. When her love life didn’t go as planned, Amina found herself back in Miami, searching for a new beginning.

Then, there’s Gemini Black. A thirty-five-year-old, handsome, college educated man, in charge of owning his very own successful trucking company. Even though Gemini grew up dealing with the absence of his biological father, he had a stepfather that stepped up, who played his part in Gemini being the man that he is today. Most of Gemini’s life is spent on the highway, hauling freight from state to state. He’s become comfortable on the truck, loving the peace that it offers him.

Now that Amina is back in Miami, she reconnects with her childhood best friend, Gianna Black. Gianna is the little sister of Gemini. For some reason, Gianna believes that Gemini can help Amina navigate through the pain that she ran away from in London. She believes that getting on the truck with Gemini would be therapy for clearing her mind. Because Amina left Miami many years ago, and her and Gemini were never close to begin with, it’s almost as if she’s getting on a truck with a stranger, so neither Gemini nor Amina is fond of Gianna’s suggestion.

Somehow, after a lot of convincing, Amina agreed to getting on the truck with Gemini. For two months, thousands of miles traveling with each other, numerous conversations, a spark grew between the two.

Exit: Us is a heartfelt story about navigating through grief, healing, and the unexpected love that comes out of just taking a chance. This journey between Gemini and Amina was unexpected, but it led them exactly where they were meant to be.
