Fitzwilliam Darcy is a gentleman of honor and principle, until a kidnapping and betrayal steal his name, his freedom, and his place in the world. Forced into a life he did not choose, he strives to reclaim his identity and return to the woman he loves. But justice must be done as well. His pursuit leads to the temptation to answer cruelty in kind; a temptation that, if given in to, will see him lost to the pursuit of revenge and leave him bereft of the honor that once defined him. Can he hope to return to Elizabeth as a man still worthy of her love?
Although this Pride and Prejudice Variation is inspired by some of the events in The Count of Monte Cristo Book, Readers need not be familiar with it at all to fully enjoy Darcy and Elizabeth’s journey to happily ever after.
